Vintage girl in Paris?

The City of Lights is known for its elegant and luxurious fashion houses such as Dior, Ralph Lauren, Gucci, Prada, among others, but even so, vintage fashion has not been left out of the game.

The famous old school bazaars continue to gain popularity when it comes to shopping, as you can find unique accessories that many boutiques no longer have in stock.

Another reason they remain more active than ever is because one of their goals is to extend the life of clothing and help reduce the environmental impact caused by the pollution generated by some clothing factories.

And although many people still shy away from them under the argument of being "second-hand clothing," the reality is that hundreds of garments are new and can even be found with their original tags.

If you are a vintage enthusiast and want to experience shopping in the French capital, I'll leave you with some suggestions for the best Parisian places.

1. Le Marais

In this neighborhood, you can find dozens of specialized boutiques selling vintage clothing, but the most prominent ones are those that offer clothing for sale BY THE KILO! Just as you read.

The surroundings of the National Archives Museum have become the home of thousands of garments looking to be bought, and to streamline your purchase, there are boutiques that offer clothing by the kilo, such as the Kilo Shop, where you can find bags at 70€ per kilo, scarves at 8€, jackets, jeans, among others, and they have their own scales to help you keep track of your purchase.

2. Le Bon Marché

To the eyes of the world, it appears solely as a large shopping center filled with expensive boutiques, with absolutely nothing vintage, but in its vicinity, it hides small boutiques specialized in the sale of vintage items.

This area, two streets away from the Sèvres metro station in the sixth district of Paris, will surprise you with boutiques such as Tilt Vintage Paris 6ème, Bonpoint - Le Bon Marché, and Dressing Factory.

3. Saint-Germain-Des-Près

Behind the façade of luxury and elegance, one of Paris's most famous avenues hides dozens of vintage boutiques that, while true, offer more items from well-known brands than from designers who have not yet gained as much fame.

The advantage of this neighborhood is that you'll find clothing and items such as bags, jewelry, or stylish eyewear that are no longer available in major boutiques. In these small shops, you can be assured that they won't go out of style.

Furthermore, thanks to its proximity to the Sorbonne University, several of these stores, like Hippy Market Sada, offer student discounts!

4. Marché aux Puces de Paris Saint-Ouen

If you're adventurous and fear nothing, this is your option.

The Marché aux Puces de Paris Saint-Ouen should not be left behind. Although it's not my favorite place, it's undoubtedly a vintage treasure trove, located in the north of Paris and offering an excessive array of specialized shops.

You'll find everything from clothing and accessories to furniture and antiques at a reasonable price. However, if you plan to make this visit, I recommend going early and selecting the shops you want to visit, as in winter, after 5 pm, it may not be as pleasant to walk its streets.

Tell me which one was your favorite, and if you have more recommendations that we can add to the list, don't hesitate to send them to share with other vintage enthusiasts.
